Jason Christian began his martial arts training at 11 years old after watching his father train at Byung Min Kims Tae Kwon Do in White Plains NY. After enrolling Coach Jason Christian began to excel in martial arts and loved competing and teaching as a teenager eventually earning a 4th Degree black belt.

In his early twenties, he began to venture out of the “traditional martial arts” and began training and competing in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at local BJJ and MMA gyms.

In 2013 Jason opened and co-owned a martial arts studio called Kangs Martial Arts in Scarsdale NY after 3 years Jason decided to sell his share of the studio and move with his wife and kids to Charlotte North Carolina.

While living in the Charlotte area Jason continued to pursue his martial arts teaching and after working a short time as a detention officer for the Sheriff’s Office, Coach Jason Christian then finally decided to dedicate his efforts to develop his martial arts and defense training and began to train in Krav Maga and eventually became an instructor at DTS Krav Maga in Harrisburg NC.

In 2021 Jason Christian decided to create a self-defense system called HeroX Defense.

HeroX combines elements of many different styles including boxing basics, Krav Maga, and Jiu-jitsu. The emphasis on HeroX defense is to develop confidence by constantly having students “pressure tested” in training by including “sparring” “rolling (grappling), and other methods to always have that sense of unpredictability that would present itself in a real-life altercation.
